National Association of Home Builders (NAHB)

The federation of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) exists to represent the home building industry by serving its members and affiliated state and local builders associations. The NAHB members, who are involved in all aspects of a diversified building industry, create jobs for millions of people and contribute significantly to the economic activity of their community, the nation and the world.

Working in partnership, the federation provides superior service to its more than 140,000 members and their employees and strives to improve housing affordability, availability and choice.

The NAHB recognizes housing and housing providers as the strength of America and create an environment where every American has the opportunity for a safe, decent and affordable home in a suitable living environment provided by an entrepreneurial and competitive industry.

Texas Association of Builders (TAB)

The Texas Association of Builders is dedicated to creating a positive business environment for the housing industry by addressing the housing issues of the people of Texas.

Founded in 1946, the Texas Association of Builders is an affiliate of the National Association of Home Builders and has 30 local home builders associations across Texas. With a membership of nearly 10,000 representing 315,000 jobs and $21 billion of the Texas economy, the Texas Association of Builders plays a crucial role in providing housing for Texans.

Greater Houston Builders Association (GHBA)

Chartered in 1941, the Greater Houston Builders Association is a trade organization whose members are involved in the development, homebuilding and remodeling industry in eight counties. The association interacts with the government, community and general public to enhance the business climate for its members, and to provide quality obtainable housing to the community it serves. The association is also active in community outreach and charitable events.

At the current rate of building, the industry contributes some 60,000 jobs and approximately $3 billion dollars to the local economy and jurisdictions annually.

GHBA is the largest home builders association (HBA) in Texas, and the 4th largest in the nation.

The Remodelers Council

The Remodelers Council of the Greater Houston Builders Association is an organization of remodelers and industry associates.

 

We are dedicated to the promotion of excellence and professionalism within, and public awareness of the Remodelers Council. We achieve this through education, certification and service to the membership, industry and the community.

Certified Green Professional

The Certified Green Professional™ designation recognizes builders, remodelers and other industry professionals who incorporate green and sustainable building principles into homes — without driving up the cost of construction. The required courses provide a solid background in green building methods, as well as the tools to reach consumers, from the organization leading the charge to provide market-driven green building solutions to the home building industry.

CGP coursework is closely aligned with the ICC 700 National Green Building Standard, which includes chapters on energy, water and resource efficiency, indoor environmental quality, lot and site development and home owner education and is the core curriculum for the required CGP classes.
