Exterior Remodel
After meeting numerous contractors to remodel the exterior of our home and being continously disappointed, we did not hesitate selecting Ashwood Designs and Custom Homes after we met Ross. Not only did Ross and his team show expert knowledge, but he was understanding to our needs and helped guide our vision to actual implementation. We had experience with how the construction process is always “ify” on dates, but Ross and his team were on point!! If there was a weather delay, he made sure that expectations were set and his team in place to stick to a manageable and realistic timetable once the weather cleared up.
We did a full exterior remodel down to the studs and modified our house to a modern craftsman style with extended back patio with pergola. We bought our house because we loved the inside and tolerated the outside - now it’s the perfect home with a great balance - all due to Ashwood Designs and Custom Homes. We would not hesitate to use Ashwood again - for a remodel or building a new home. Absolutely fabulous work, great team and outstanding leadership!

Home remodel
We hired Ashwood Designs in 2018 to update our home, which was built in 2000. We relocated a fireplace to create a more inviting living room, replaced all tile flooring with hardwood and updated countertops and paint throughout. The project managers had a great relationship with the on-site trades which enabled our project to progress fluidly and on schedule. I appreciated the weekly updates so I understood what to expect at my house each week. I also appreciated the open communication with Ross and the entire team as my expectations were managed. The quality of craftmanship was superb and I would definitely hire Ashwood Designs for future work!

Ashwood designed and built our beautiful custom home in Meyerland . Ross was able to capture what we wanted exactly on the design. The workmanship is truly beautiful . We started after Harvey, so it was a little slow, but it was definitely worth the wait . The people he has working for him in the office have been great. They continue to take my calls after the build , which is very important! We finished our home in 2019! It really is our dream house !

"After interviewing 5 Houston custom home builders, we selected Ashwood Designs as our builder for our new custom home in Oat Forest.
Our initial meeting with Ross was very relax and easy, unlike other builders we had interviewed. We immediately pick up how passionate Ross was about building homes and at this point we knew Ross was the right person to take this journey with us.In our design phase, Ross brought a lot of creative and fresh ideas, his 3D graphics made it easy for us to visualize what our home would look like which was very existing for us. This made the process less overwhelming and easier to really design our home. After a few weeks we had our final design.
In the construction phase, Ross was available at any time to address any concerns or questions. He really took time to understand what we wanted and delivered on those exceptions. Most importantly, the project was on budget! Ross was amazing throughout the entire housing builder process. He made our house building experience a great one. We are so pleased and in love with our new custom home.

Master Bath Remodel
"We had Ross Huthmacher at Ashwood Designs complete a master bath remodel, install several custom built-in shelves and a new built-in desk in our office. We were thrilled with the results! He really went above and beyond in helping us finalize details with the design and offering suggestions. I was worried about such a significant amount of work happening while we were still living in the house but that proved to be unnecessary. Ross ensured that his team worked efficiently and that work spaces were always clean and contained. The project came in on budget and timely. It was truly a great experience and we will definitely use him again!"

"We hired Ross to replace the old cast iron plumbing under our house and remodel our master bathroom. The final result is just amazing. He and his crew are very professional and honest.
Ross created a number of digital renderings for us so we could see what we were getting before hand and the final result is very similar.
While the project took a bit longer than estimated we are not dissatisfied. Most of the delay was due to an excessive number of extremely rainy days during the underground plumbing part that slowed down progress.
We are extremely happy with the result and would definitely hire Ross again"

"We hired Ashwood Designs and Custom Homes to build cabinets on the slanted wall above our washer/dryer. We wanted the cabinet faces and hardware to match the existing cabinetry throughout our home.
Ross and his crew were so helpful and easy to work with. They arrived as scheduled, built the cabinets on site, matched the paint, touched up the sheetrock and cleaned up all trace of their work. When finished the cabinets look as if they were original to our home. We couldn’t be more pleased. "We worked with Ross Huthmacher doing an extensive remodel (took it down to the studs) of a 1962 home in Candlelight Estates (near Oak Forest) in 2012, and were thrilled with the service, price and results. Ross is wonderful to work with. His word is golden – he does what he says and bends over backwards to make sure you are happy with the results.
There are several requests we made at the time, that in hindsight seem a bit over the top, and Ross’ team obliged without complaint.
